QuestionWith the USB-C display port, port. Is that the one that also allows charging? if so what is the max watts can you charge with? and when charging VIA USB-C, does the cpu and gpu run at full power?

- Answer I believe that you can use the USB-C port for charging, however it does run at a lower wattage and thus I believe that the CPU and GPU will not run at full power. I believe "full power" for the CPU and GPU is probably around 80 W.

- Answer With very rare exceptions, you can never upgrade a discrete graphics card in a laptop. It's not a card, it's soldered to the motherboard. More and more you'll start to see sufficiently able built-in GPUs integrated with CPUs so your discrete GPU is optional (although still a design/build-time decision). Like the RDNA2 integrated GPUs in their 6000 series laptop APUs and future RDNA3 integrated GPUs when 7000 series CPUs come out. But for this model, if you get the 3060, that's what you got.

- Answer As of Aug 21 they're quoting ship date of Sep 9. So you've missed the Fall Semester boat unless you can find it at a local BB store. Besides calling the number noted, another suggestion: Check in-store availability for the zip-code of your college if that's in a different state or region. May need to fool the browser into thinking you're browsing from college's zip-code. Note: Best Buy makes it virtually impossible to contact a specific store by phone. All calls go to a global call center.

- Answer No. It is only just now that we are starting to see a few AMD laptops coming out with Thunderbolt support. Also, for desktops, once we get 7000 series AMD CPUs next month, with their new motherboards (AM5 based) we will start to see AMD desktops with Thunderbolt. By collaborating with Apple on Thunderbolt, Intel got a market advantage for a long period of time.

QuestionIs there an extra slot for another ssd?

- Answer No. On this model you'd have to upgrade the existing SSD to a bigger one or a faster one. Might need Geek Squad support unless you're good at such things as saving/restoring files and installing OS on bare new drive. BTW, this takes a Gen 3 M.2 SSD. I believe it's forward compatible to Gen 4 but you won't get full Gen-4 speed due to slower PCIe bus in this model.

- Answer Very much so. At least for the current gen of VR goggles. Although a 3060 is considered an entry-level GPU, and the laptop version is clocked down a little bit, it should be good enough for the Facebook (Meta) and other VR technologies out there right now. Be happy - it was only a couple years ago that I demoed VR on a friend's machine and he needed a desktop system that weighed 40 pounds to do it.
