I have the 2021 model and was able to install a 32GB stick of RAM for a total of 40GB, with no issues.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. That's the maximum you can get from the factory for this particular model, but if you're willing to spend extra for a 32GB DDR5 SODIMM you should be able to get it up to 40. This probably isn't one of the ASUS tested and approved configurations, which means if it somehow ended up causing system instability they're not on the hook to help you fix it, but it's pretty rare for having too much RAM to be a problem with modern hardware.

This is probably one of the millions of editorial mistakes made by Best Buy in typing up their web-site product-info material. It could be though. Last year's model did claim 24 GB max, which would be 8 GB soldered on-motherboard plus 16 GB in the one DIMM slot. These models seem to come with (or are mistakenly stated to come with - who knows?) 16 GB, which would be 8 + 8, and you must throw away an 8 and replace with a 16 to get to 24 max. But the 2022 model comes with DDR5 RAM, not DDR4. So doesn't it make sense that with DDR5 you could get a 32 GB stick, swapping out the 8, for a total of 40 GB? This seems to be the case on the G15, so why would the G14 be any different?
