I recall that 2020 G14 with the Ryzen 9 4900HS and RTX 3060 was at least $1600 when it launched. This new model has a 25% faster CPU, a 25-40% faster GPU, a 120hz 2560x1600 screen without last year's ghosting issue, and a 1TB PCIe gen 4 SSD. All this for $300 more in a time where material costs are skyrocketing and the value of the US dollar is collapsing.
