“This is my first gaming laptop. Is it normal for the bottom to be hot. And as well as the space where my palm are resting. I’ve had it for one day and mainly using it for work and emails but later plan to game on it. The cpu and gpu are at 60 when idle.”

Depends on what you’re using it for and what fan setting you have on. That being said, yeah they usually run hot, every gaming laptop I’ve had has run hot. As a whole, I think they’ve gotten better over time w/ heat but it still is pretty noticeable

If so far you have only used it for work I would suggest having someone from geek squad look at it, or get a fan for the laptop to sit on while you use it. Just my personal opinion

Reddit has a dedicated ASUS G14 subreddit forum that will guide you through this process. Generally speaking, it is expected for a 14” laptop to run a little warm and hot under heavy loads given its chassis size + power consuming components.
