It would be a great laptop for a student. Very light and portable with great battery life plus can game with highest settings. The 1 TB internal SSD will hold maybe 10 or so titles so yes, plenty of space to keep you occupied with games. It does run hot and loud is the only drawback when gaming, otherwise is very quiet. I've been a huge fan of Asus for years when building PC's and personally own 3 Ausus ROG laptops and have never had issues so far. Cheers, Randy
