Great! With one issue
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I absolutely love this laptop. It’s by far the the best overall built laptop on the market that has power, battery life, portability, and build quality. Hands down. That being said there was one big issue with my laptop once I started playing around with it. After driver and windows all got updated. I started noticing blue screens on startup. Only sometimes. And it wasn't the same blue screen, it would pop up 3 different ones at random sometimes. So I noticed the only thing not update to the newest version was my bios. Thankfully I’ve been building and working with computers for over a decade now and was familiar with doing this. Once done the problem still happened. So I ran out of logical options as I had no clue what to do with this brand new laptop. It worked perfectly after the blue screen went away and it restarted on its own. Like nothing ever happened. But I called asus and they had no idea either then recommended I reformat my brand new laptop I’ve had for 12 days. With regret I had no choice at this point. So I went through the process of wiping the current operating system and redoing everything from scratch. Windows updates, driver updates, installing all the asus apps that work amazing on this specific computer. Finally got it done. Guess what? No more blue screens. So moral of this story is I’m not sure what asus is shipping these laptops with software wise. But I had issues out of the box on mine and ended up having to wipe it all and reformat from scratch. Now for me this isn’t a big deal. But some that are less knowledgeable vs me will struggle massively with this issue. So if some of what I’ve said is confusing or your don’t understand, It’s not a set up and go type of experience I have had. But now it’s problem free and amazing as ever. I just wanted to share my experience and earn some people if your not tech savvy then you may be on the phone with asus for quite awhile having them teach you how to reformat over the phone or be forced to send it in for repairs and be without your new laptop for weeks. But my system may have Been a rare occurrence and I would still highly recommend this product. It’s truly remarkable how heavy duty this thing feels. And it’s now been problem free over a week so I’m happy to say all has been solved thanks to me. Asus needs to check their products better before putting them in the hands of customers.

Best piece of tech I've ever purchased.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Absolutely awesome! The performance, build quality, battery life, and portability culminate into one of the most well rounded laptops I've ever used. In terms of performance the 4900HS is truly an engineering feat the 7nm process the chip is based on sips power and packs a huge punch as for the GPU the RTX 2060 Max Q is a good pairing with the 1080p display I've been able to play any game with the graphics maxed out only exception has been cyberpunk 2077 but I found a nice balance and I'm able to have nearly everything on the high setting with ray tracing enabled for lighting, shadows, and reflections while maintaining a frame rate above 30. The 1080p 120hz ips panel is fantastic and relatively color accurate, it utilizes AMD's freesync technology which syncs the display refresh rate with the frame rate in game resulting in an extremely smooth feeling display. Keyboard I've had no issues with this far, the keys are nice and clicky and feel responsive. I knew going in the backlighting was a low point particularly on the white model but my unit has uniform lighting therefore it's not an issue for me although I do find the keys to be more visible with the back lighting disabled under certain lighting conditions. Lacks a webcam not a deal breaker for me as I don't frequently use one but if you do I'd consider buying an external cam or looking elsewhere. The finger print unlock is located on the power button and has worked the majority of the time I'd say 90% of the time when it has failed logging in is as simple as typing in your pin a mild inconvenience but in my opinion completely forgivable. The speaker are some of the best both in terms of volume and clarity plus dolby atmos although I can't speak to much on it as I haven't utilized it much this far. In conclusion I've not experienced a sliver of buyers remorse which surprised myself as the price isn't exactly budget oriented but in a way it is as it's such a performer. I'd highly recommend, 5 out of 5 stars.

Awesome overall laptop
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.- Great design for such powerful performance - Keyboard feels great and tactile; however, it is true that the backlight is simply sucks. - Color accuracy is about 8/10, 120hz is great for casual gaming and productivity, ghosting due to low refresh rate is there but rarely happens. It also has freesync built in with the display. - When heavy gaming, fan is loud (turbo) and the chassis is more than just warm, but it is the same case as any gaming laptop. If you want quiet and cool gaming, just built a pc, really. Fan is always on, but to put perspective, my home and office ac system is louder; therefore, I can barely hear the laptop’s. - Battery is great. Not sure about 10 hrs like you tubers’ reviews but definitely better than most gaming laptop (>5 hrs of productivity) - Ryzen 9 4000 series is lightning fast for regular users. Even though rtx 2060 MAX-q does not sound that good for gamers, it get the jobs done ( >100 FPS on madden, fifa, nba; 60->75 on forza, sekiro -all in highest setting) - Overall, better built than most ROG laptops (Owned a GU502gv last year) in the past that infamously knowns for low quality built quality.

Excellent laptop!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You already know the hype. I’ll try not to hype it up. I have every gaming system. Name it and I either have it or had it. The only thing lacking was an updated gaming laptop. I was in search of a desktop originally to handle VR games done through my Oculus Quest. I travel so I didn’t have a desire to build a two foot tower gaming rig. I have a Nitro 5 with a GTX 1050. I’ve also owned the giant legendary 17.3 inch asus rog laptops that were the best at thermals and low fan noise. I’ve returned MacBook Pro for heat and fan noise. I’ve returned a similar MSI 14 inch gaming laptop that sported a 1060. It was plastic and the fan noise was terrible. Point is, I’m a stickler for Fan noise, I hate it. So lacking a modern laptop, I figured I’d bite the bullet and try this out. If not, I have 30 days to return being an Elite Member. right out the box, this screamed quality. Solid metal, not cheap plastic and metal. But then I worry, fan noise. No way can this be good. I install Forza 4. Ran it on the highest settings. It’s gorgeous! The heat? Yes the keyboard is hot but I’m on an Xbox controller. Fan noise? You can hear air flow but it’s not a cool whine nor does the chassis vibrate from the fan, unlike a MacBook or that MSI. It’s noticeable but I’ve heard much worse. PS4 Pro fan is either on par with the loudest of this laptop or even louder. So based on those simple items, not being loud fan noise and being so tiny but powerful, this is a keeper. If you don’t like the small fan noise it makes, the. Under volt it or manage the power. It’s not as bad as people say it is, and you are looking at a mobile cpu that rivals the fastest desktops in a tiny package that you can travel and play the best of games and VR. No returning this one, but it’s only been 2 hours. I’ll update if I see something bad. I’m gonna test the crap out of this one

Decent laptop
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Makes weird noises. Mini space heater. 2 years in my screen has started to glitch. I still like it but don't know how long it'll last. Also description never said my laptop would not have the backside LEDs kind of deceptive.

Beauty and BEAST!!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Looks so good in a meeting room you'll catch envious eyes. Performs all tasks and games like a BOSSS!! I get 4.4ghz on the 4800HS constantly and between 4.2-4.3ghz while All Sixteen Threads are under full load..! My RTX 2060 Max-Q hits over 2Ghz with 2010Mhz boosts and between 1541-1760Mhz while pushing absolutely Max'd Out Ray Traced graphics onto the 120Hz display. Basically, it's a GD Monster in unassuming looks. If you need a laptop that's more powerful than most brand new PC's, weighs only 3.5lbs and is ultra portable due its size; this is The laptop to buy. I Love the sound quality, keyboard (except the backlighting), look, feel, performance and everything else about this laptop so much that I dropped a 2tb SSD in mine and let me tell you; I'm using that space alright. Games Games Games, demanding programs and large files from high resolution video editing, etc. makes the extra room worth it for me. Last thing, the USB Type-C connection on the left side of this thing let's you plug in a $15 adapter that adds 3 more USB 3.0 Type-A (regular looking USB) ports, a full size and Micro SD card reader and another HDMI port. You can even use that port to charge the laptop with your cell phone charger. This laptop is an Unprecedented Value and is one of the fastest and definitely the most efficient laptop in the world. If you can afford it, Buy It.

Great laptop!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Only problems I could see with this thing from my experience is when I updated windows something weird happened with the drivers and my Wi-Fi Driver stopped working and it would not even let me choose the Internet just airplane mode. After resetting the computer and fiddling around with the settings I decided to update my bios and It fixed everything. There’s a lot of frustration when setting up the computer but after you mess around with it a little bit and know the ins and outs of your machine things will get much better. One big thing about the computer is the fans are not super loud but noticeable. If it’s in the winter and you have this thing running in your small room this thing will keep your room warm, but in these hot summer days, you may want to crank up the air conditioning because this thing will heat up your room for sure even in just performance mode. I did find out later that the turbo mode does not work unless it is plugged in with the charger. Reason I give it five stars though is because the laptop in itself does everything that I expected it to do. It does really good on multitasking, I can run four instances on my blue stacks using macros on all 4 and run a fancy game at the same time without any crashes or slow downs. I was originally going to go with a digital storm laptop and drop a whooping $2000 plus tax but I am super grateful my brother in law suggested this one. Saved money and ended up with a way faster laptop. Also the copy and paste to and from external hard drives is super fast. Really can’t complain.

Q: QuestionAnyone getting that black screen problem that is occurring for many owners of that laptop? Mine has been happening once a day and it occurs out of nowhere. Screen goes black and sound stops. Pretty much the system just stops and no input works.
Asked by Owner.
- A:Answer Yes! mine has done it a few times, only when I am surfing the web. It doesn't happen when I am playing games. There are several threads on Reddit about it. From one of the posts: It's believed to be something to do with the drivers on the Radeon chip. if you press Windows+shift+ctrl+b it'll perk the computer back up because it actually boots the drivers again on the chip. Most haven't had issues with it while running games(since it switches to the RTX, and it's a Radeon issue.) Also try turning Freesync off in the radeon chip settings, it's under Radeon Lite(in your programs). I just found this Reddit reference tonight, and have not yet had a chance to try the " press Windows+shift+ctrl+b" option yet,, so I don't know if it works yet. (But even if it does, that's not he long term fix I'm looking for. I've had this laptop for 5 days now and love it, but the screen suddenly going blank it frustrating! Enough to the point that I'm thinking of returning while I still can!

Asked by Casey.
- A:Answer Bro what kind of work you doing? My wifes a laywer and runs her work server on a I5 Dell laptop. This is a gaming laptop plus some. Might be overkill just for work you could get a nice work laptop much much cheaper. Unless you plan on playing elder scrolls online when the boss isnt looking... which I would if I was you.

Q: QuestionBeen using the new G14 for a couple of days and lovin it. Except that my model has that kind of high pitch noise resembling electronic signal (coil whine?) even at idle. Is this my particular model or does G14 generally has this kind of issue?
Asked by unohu.
- A:Answer Found the solution! Turn up your keyboard back light. Makes no sense, hopefully Asus can fix this soon. At no keyboard backlight, I can hear the whining you talk about. At max back light, it goes away basically completely. If I turn the back light off, it comes right back.
