No it does not support DDR5 even though the 13th gen chip does. The preinstalled memory is soldered. I don't know why they went with DDR4, but I purchased it anyway after reading about DDR5 and doing some research. For me it was a no brainier because I was able to pick up this laptop for $900 with taxes and all in the open box section.
