- Answer If you want connection to the internet then yes, you need to somehow provide access and purchase/rent a modem from the internet service provider.

QuestionThe internet connection keeps dropping. I thought it was my modem from Spectrum so I replaced. it. I discovered it was the ASUS AX3000 router that I purchased in Dec 2022. When I turn off and back on the router the internet connection is back.

- Answer Yes. Has built in connection to ASUS aimesh extenders. I do have a netgear extender connected to get wifi into my backyard shed. In my case it's up to the software of the extender to work with the router. This router just sees it as another connected device, and it works well.

- Answer You need to connect it to a modem from your ISP provider. This provides wifi signal throughout your home but you need to connect it to a modem first.

- Answer I've found this to be an excellent router. While it is a WiFi 6 router (using 802.11 ax), it is backward compatible with all previous WiFi protocols such as 802.11 ac (also called WiFi 5), 802.11 n, 802.11 g, b and a. It works well with Windows 11 and will work with your Samsung smart TV and Smart Phone (Samsung android or Apple iPhone).

QuestionCurrently on Xfi Gateway, was looking for a router that would allow for channel selection for the network and allow me to manually place devices on either 2.4 or 5ghz bands. Does this support that? And can I have separate passwords for both bands?

Questiondoes this router mark the files on the usb drive as hidden? Also, Does this router assign letters to the usb drives so that over the network you won't see the usb drive name, you will only see the letter?
