The cpu and gpu are soldered to the motherboard so that they won’t rattle loose during transport. If it had slotted components like that, the pins might break off or break the whole slot or socket. It’s just for durability purposes. You can technically upgrade it down the road, but you will need a whole new motherboard that comes with a cpu and gpu but even a motherboard with an i7 8565u and no gpu is $450 so it’s going to be very expensive
