This would only work if you use your cellphone as a WiFi hotspot. If you can't use your cellphone as a hotspot, you would need a laptop with LTE to use cellular data.

I wanted a bluetooth adapter, which this doesn't appear to do or i have not figured it out yet. 1. its a wireless adapter, it enables you, assuming wifi is available to you ie comcast, fios or some hotspot. 2. its not an air card, as in a card that works like a cell phone and can have its own service. view it as a way to make your desktop a wireless device, or wireless ready. that's it. if your router is say in the other room, and your pc is not near the router, it lets you connect to your Comcast router assuming you have a service without running cables everywhere. hope this helps
