“I want to connect my DISH box to my WiFi network so I may download video on demand and movies. The DISH box I have is called a Wally box and wants an Ethernet connection. Will this device work or is there a better device? Thanks.”

Wally has it's own USB WIFI adapter. Alternatively, you could use powerline Ethernet adapters, they come in pairs. Plug one in near your Wally and plug the other one in near your WIFI access point/router. Your router should have Ehternet ports and the Wally does, as well. Connect the Ethernet ports via cable to the Powerline adapters. Much faster and more stable than trying to stream content over WIFI via a USB dongle.
