You may be thinking of bluetooth technology, which this adapter is not. Most true wireless headphones will have a separate unit that connects to the audio jack of a computer or audio device. Headphones that do not have that additional unit are usually bluetooth, and requires your computer to be bluetooth enabled or have a USB bluetooth adapter installed. The above product for sale is a USB wireless (wifi) adapter for connecting to a wireless modem/router/access point/gateway for access to the internet or wireless network. There are exceptions which are wireless devices that connect directly to your computer or wireless device via wifi, but they normally require you to disconnect from your internet wifi in order to make the connection as wifi is normally a single source connection. Bluetooth, in contrast, can have multiple connections simultaneously (i.e. mouse, headphones, keyboard). FYI, * If you looking to use headphones, bluetooth headphones are more common but have a hard range limit of about 30 feet, were true wireless headphones with their own separate unit have much longer ranges. * Wireless headphones tend to have static from interfering signals and bluetooth tends to be very clear but have dropouts when reaching there limits in range. * Due to the digital transmission, bluetooth headphones can have a delay when watching TV, which your tv will need to have the ability to compensate for.
