This adapter has nothing to do with internet connection. Normally a laptop should have Bluetooth incorporated internally. If your laptop does not have Bluetooth or the Bluetooth is not working you can try this adapter. Before you can pair any Bluetooth device you will need to make sure the operating system (windows) recognizes and installs the adapter. Once the adapter has been successfully installed then you can try connecting/pairing a Bluetooth device. 

if you are trying to use this adapter to connect to the internet this is not the correct hardware to use
