“I have a sony tv which does not work to connect its blue tooth to my headphones. I assume that is because the BT profile isn't the correct one for that. Will this adapter allow me to connect my headphones to the TV with BT?”

The ASUS USB-BT500 adapter is designed for use with computers and does not typically work with TVs to enable Bluetooth connectivity for headphones.
