“I have a small red dot In the middle of my screen. How do I get rid of it or should I return and exchange it. I’m using this as a computer monitor, connected to my laptop.”

Sounds like you've got the GamePlus Crosshair mode turned on. You can press the "X" button on the back of the monitor on the right-hand side to turn it off.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Press the lever on the back of the monitor to bring up the monitor menu. Should say Game Mode (or something similar) in upper left corner of the pop-up. Continue to use that lever (on the back) to scroll down to the wrench (System Setup). Move the lever right (if looking at the monitor from the front), scroll down to ECO Mode and turn it on. This will make the dot go away. Did you know, if you want to keep the dot because you use for Gaming, you can move it by simply moving that lever around but not pressing in on the lever.
