“Is there certain settings I need to adjust on the monitor itself when turned to vertical? I enabled portrait mode in the desktop display settings. There is a very obvious glare/discoloring when in vertical. (Like it only looks good at one angle).”

yes you need to change the settings for both angle don't know the right setting you need for that angle but check online someone should already have it
