“2 ?'s: * Is a "Vivobook" also considered a "Chromebook"? * Is it secure, virus-free?”

• No, this machine comes pre loaded with Windows 11 in S mode. It can be switched out of S mode to regular Windows 11, or you can install a linux distribution, but it cannot run Android/Chrome OS (what a Chromebook uses).

• No, this is a Windows pc, not a Chromebook. Windows will run the Chrome browser and Gmail.

• This is not a Chromebook, it runs windows. It is secure, and if buy from bestbuy, they will give you a 6 month anti virus software for free. Pretty good.

• The ASUS X1404VA Vivobook is a Windows laptop, not a Chromebook. It runs Windows 11 and offers built-in security features such as Windows Defender Antivirus, a firmware TPM for data protection, a webcam privacy shutter, and ASUS Antimicrobial Guard Plus to reduce surface bacteria. While it's not immune to viruses, these features help maintain a secure and hygienic computing experience. https://www.asus.com/laptops/for-home/vivobook/asus-vivobook-14-x1404/techspec/
