The ASUS X1404VA comes with Windows 11 Home in S Mode, but you can switch to regular Windows 11 Home for free. Once switched, you won’t be able to revert to S Mode.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can switch out of S mode to have it operate in "regular" mode. Contrary to popular thinking, you CAN switch back to S Mode, although in requires a COMPLETE wipe of any data, programs, settings, etc. performed since the second you first turned it on. Also, you probably can downgrade to Windows 10, but why would you want to, since the main reason for getting Win11 is to increase your security. Plus, you would probably be prompted to restore Win11 forever. If you prefer Win10, I suggest you buy a lightly used computer with it. If it is capable of the upgrade, your only concern would be the constant prompts to do so, If it is not capable of the upgrade, your only concern would be to have a security breach and expose all your information (like bank passwords used online) to hackers. Oh, and possibly have your laptop turned into someone else's robot and/or hijacking, requiring you to pay some gangster to have it unlocked.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, you can use regular Windows 11... but this laptop is perfect for a linux system. Linux Mint or Debian would run smooth here.
