• Asus must not be paying attention. External optical drives are typically connected via a USB port. But yes, you can.

• The ASUS Vivobook 14 X1404ZA does not have an internal optical drive for CDs or DVDs. However, you should be able to connect an external DVD drive to watch videos via the HDMI port.
