According to the documentation, the processor is dual channel so it makes since the motherboard is too. I have read generated hardware reports from the last two units that we purchased. Both reports said that there was a single 8Gb chip installed. I have not physically verified the reports, or opened the units, so we cant say for sure that the reports are correct, or if there is actually is a second unpopulated memory slot. This laptop can be run in single channel memory mode, but being dual channel greater performance would be had running it configured as a 2X4 (8Gb) or 2X8 (16Gb), etc. But maybe to keep the cost low, Asus decided to build this with a single 8Gb chip, expecting that some of us would add a second 8Gb chip. The price is right for a 10 gen I7, so, I'm sure we will pop one open at some point, I'll update this info when that happens. Hope this helps
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The laptop comes with 2 4 GB ram sticks. One is removable and can be replaced with up to 16 for a total of 20 GB. I just Dade this upgrade this week. The other answer listed is incorrect.
