I purchased a non-ECC, unbuffered 16GB DDR4-3200 SODIMM - exactly as the ASUS answer above states - and it didn't work.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.RAM is a very finicky thing. Even if the specs say one thing, another manufacturer's products might not be usable. If the information is not available on the manufacturer website, read it off the pre-installed memory stick. Failing this, you can always get the correct memory from a notable manufacturer, like Kingston or Crucial, though you may have to pay a little bit more for not buying a "generic" stick.
