I am the person the asked the original question. The answer is yes. I have a 100w charger and a good USB C-C cable, and it powers up just fine. I also chatted with the ASUS help desk about this, and the sure me it would work as well. It is slower than the 200W charger that is included, but it works fine.

But with CPU and GPU going full blast it consumes 125 Watts per Asus, and 75 Wh / 125 W = 0.6 hours = 36 minutes battery life (say when gaming on a really demanding game at high settings). But when doing the latter gaming from a full charge with a 100 W USB-C charger, you are eating (125 W - 100W) = 25 W off the battery, so you get 75 Wh / 25 W = 3 hours gaming battery life - that is, your battery runs out of juice after 3 hours gaming even though plugged in to 100 W. Of course, on the big 200 W charger, you can game until the cows come home. The nice thing about the small charger (if you buy one) is you can throw it in your backpack and top off your charge when out and about, without weighting you down.
