It shouldn't. All you have to do is to make sure the built-in answering machine is turned off. And in case of a power outage, you will have to turn off the answering machine once again when the power comes back on. Other than that, you would have to follow instructions from your voice mail system as to how to set up your outgoing message, and how to retrieve your voice mail messages.
