The one big difference about this device and a cell phone is that it has to external antenna boards. It is possible to put a directional antenna on a pole and be able to get a signal that his cell phone never would. But you have to buy that additionally. Are use this for camping all the time. Just make sure you understand where AT&T coverage begins and ends because even with an antenna on a poll if you are in an area with no service this will not work.

I use this with Net Buddy and for $60 a month I get unlimited data. There is no data cap. There is no throttling. But the speed you get is based on the congestion of the cell tower that you’re hitting. I use this in my RV and while I’m at home. At home I typically get 8 Mbps and I have gotten as much as 52 Mbps when on the road, sitting under a cell tower.
