I’ve had negative gain using the Netgear external antennas. If you really need one, find a better MIMO “yagi” to go outside. Range willl be the same as a modern 2016/2017 cellphone with MIMO. I have noticed it’s signal to noise ratio is better than the intel based iPhone X, and the galaxy 6. You will only notice better speeds in a 1 bar area. With 3-4 bars Your probably speed limited by the carriers network.
