• You can and should remove the fully charged battery if you intend to keep the device plugged into an electrical outlet; because this device can be used without battery power instead of risk the battery swelling up while kept inside the device's battery chamber while left plugged in.

• I leave mine plugged in. It detects it has been plugged in for an extended period of time and goes into a battery saver mode. This keeps the battery at about 50% charged until it's restated.
