Yes, it does output. I have it hard wired to my ethernet switch and all my devices are hard wired. I believe when it first came out it was only input but had an update to make the connection output.

I am doing this for my home network where the ethernet port of the nighthawk is connected to a Google Wifi router so that I can get past the 20 device limitation of the Wifi native to the nighthawk. When I first got my nighthawk, I did all my speed qualification testing by directly connecting to the ethernet port with my laptop.
