“Will this router work with a prepaid card for occasional use? I might purchase a card, use it for a month or so and then not use the router again for a couple of months. I would buy another card to replace the previous card that will have expired.”

Yes but you might need a new SIM card depending on how long between uses. My company uses it at a warehouse for the Christmas season and then not the rest of the year(so basically October through January) and we were told that’s what we’d have to do to re-activate it.
