• Not sure how old your Iphone is but the Nighthawk LTE Mobile Hotspot Router makes use of more cell tower bands than older phones do. As 5g becomes available and faster speeds become accessible this device will be able to keep up with it. I would say it should be faster than your phone hotspot as long as your current carrier is AT&T or you know that AT&T has good network coverage in your area.
