It comes with AT&T sim so I assume an easy activation. Look for AT&T data resellers for alternative plans.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You will have to have an existing data plan for an AT&T hot-spot, or add a new plan. I have an old (real unlimited) unlimited data plan. I swapped SIM cards into the Nighthawk M1. I'm using it in a very rural area and connected 2 high gain outdoor antennas. I'm pulling in about 25Mb download, and 1 to 3 Mb upload. This is really great for the location. We only get 1 bar on our cell phones if we are standing outside facing toward the nearest tower.

We initially used the Velocity box and recently upgraded to Nighthawk since it has more connections (20 vs. 10). So far so good. We've had it about 2 months and have had no issues.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just have a data plan before buying the device so I just insert my old sim from my hotspot, if you don't have any data plan you need to get one, prepaid or postpaid it dont matter the device dont give you service it's a portable router or hotspot, if you buy it at full price you can unlock it and use it with t-mobile or Verizon. Check which carrier works best at your location.
