Yes you can get voice mails on this phone if you have it through the phone company. I have mine through my phone company. You just dial Into the access code or access number and you can retrieve your messages. You must plug the phone into a phone jack, This phone requires 4 AA (double A) batteries so the caller id can work. The phone can be used and will ring without the batteries but not give call information without the batteries. Works perfectly hope this information helps.
