• Technically AtariOS is built on debian - the same Linux distro that SteamOS uses. That said, it is more or less locked into Big Picture mode equivalent. To have a truly full Linux or Windows experiment a second drive with either of those installed is needed.

• It has its own firmware but it's a computer and it's in the bios that any is on a flash drive, SSD, or external HDD , it will boot that instead. You can have chrome os, windows 10, any os you like and it is what you make it
