Quite possibly, depending on what the maximum weight of the cartridge + headshell is which the provided counterweight can counterbalance. Hitachi documentation states that the cartridge weight range when using the supplied Hitachi headshell is 4 to 9 grams. They do not state what the weight of the headshell itself is unfortunately. The AT-VM95E/H Headshell/Cartridge Combo Kit weighs 15.5 grams total; the cartridge weighs 6.1 grams and the headshell with mounting screws weighs 9.4 grams. Most removable half-inch headshells weigh between 7 and 10 grams which would put the range of the total cartridge + headshell weight at 11 to 19 grams, so I think you will be ok.
