• It is fully manual. It uses a typical lever system to lift and place arm/needle. You will also need to be aware when the record is over, as it does not automatically stop.

• No it is not automatic. You have manually move the arm over to the album, and lower it onto the album to start listening. When the album is over, you have to manually move the arm up, and move back to its resting place. There is a lever to use to raise and lower on and off the album.
