• It depends if you have other components to connect. I bought the same turntable and connected it directly to Klipsch R-15M Active monitors, with a Polk PSW10 Active subwoofer, and the sound is fantastic (without an amplifier). I've also connected the speakers to my tv but have no other audio components.

• Really up to you and how you like to listen to your vinyl. I use Bose Companion 2 Series 3 speakers with my unit and love the way the playback sounds.
