So how is this cable 400 dollars and not a scam? null

You can find this product on the Audio Quest web site, sold through retail partners like Magnolia Home Theatre. It's aimed at audiophiles and others who can be convinced their digitized music sounds better if the data travels over a really expensive cable. Seems dubious, as long as the 0s and 1s are received without error there should be no difference. You don't need a $500 USB cable for that, particularly at USB 2.0 data rates.

And we all know what happened to Magnolia Home Theater...
