For the best audio performance you want the arrows pointing from your source devices (cable box, Blu-ray) to your receiver. And the arrows should be pointing from the receiver into the TV.

If your reciever is 8k capable feed your reciever first and hdmi your tv and componance with hdmi cables from your reciever.
