Apple does not play well with these devices, although they claim to be apple compatible. It took me countless hours of research and customer support to connect to my Apple TV ... with spotty service at best, so I did the next best dumb thing I purchased the junk box "bridge" which lasted a little over a year before it died..... August has great affordable products but the manufacturing and materials are so atrocious that it's impossible to recommend the August name brand.... But as the adage goes "you get what you pay for"....
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just had this same issue. The best solution is to buy a second Apple TV and use it as the "range extender". I bought a used 4th. gen. Apple TV off eBay for about $80. The Connect is NOT HomeKit compatible, even though the August smart locks themselves are. Pretty stupid design decision there.... You wind up only able to use the August lock via the Connect if you're in the August app itself and tap a special icon to tell it you need to talk to the lock via the Connect each time you want to lock/unlock it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No it will not help the Apple TV connect to your lock. You will have to move your Apple TV closer to the lock. If you have problems setting up the lock using your ATV the you should reach out to August Support.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, this bridge is actually what you will need. The bridge connects the lock to your WiFi network (making it discoverable).
