A:AnswerThe August works fine with your smartphone. The lock is Bluetooth based so no network connection is required. I find that it auto-unlocks very reliably when I come back to my house. I've had the lock and found it to work pretty flawlessly for a year now.
You need the keypad or the connect as adjuncts to the phone- to be able to unlock without your phone (a guest for instance) or to unlock it remotely using wifi.
A:AnswerApple does not play well with these devices, although they claim to be apple compatible. It took me countless hours of research and customer support to connect to my Apple TV ... with spotty service at best, so I did the next best dumb thing I purchased the junk box "bridge" which lasted a little over a year before it died..... August has great affordable products but the manufacturing and materials are so atrocious that it's impossible to recommend the August name brand.... But as the adage goes "you get what you pay for"....
A:AnswerJust installed these. I bought one Smart Lock with Connect and two Smart Locks. The blue shirt told me I only need one Connect to work with multiple locks. He was wrong. You 100% need one Connect for each Smart Lock. This is absolutely stupid. I'd recommend passing on this one. Taking mine back.
