For the most part, yes. Hooking it up and attaching it to the wall was simple. You need the right tools but if you have them, no problem. Setting it up through the August app was the hardest part. I think this is because the connection to Wi-Fi was very poor. I have an amazing wireless router but that still didn't cut it. You need a Wi-Fi device no more then 20 to 30 feet away
