• AMS 1 is just a multi-filament system while the AMS 2 is the mutli system with a dryer built in

• AMS 2 will feed the filament faster and it has a built in dryer to help keep moisture out. The AMS uses desiccant, which can help but it is more manual. For me, the dryer is the biggest selling point since it helps maintain print quality.
