The power traffic cable is the receiving antenna for the wireless camera. The back up camera and transmitter are powered by a connection you make to the back up lights on your particular vehicle. This saves running a wire all the way from the back of the car to the front.

According to the manual " The GPS must be powered through this cable to communicate with the camera". The cable's receiver is for video & not traffic. I hope this helps you.

One plugs into your lighter and Garmin and is a receiver from the back up camera and receives real-time traffic updates. The second is hardwired to your back-up lights and connects the camera to the transmitter. Both are necessary for the back up camera to send and receive video from the camera.
