I already had a Garmon gps and found out about this back up camera. I had been wanting one for safety when backing up around children. This was perfect for my needs. Installation was extememly easy, espiecially on my Wrangler, and it worked perfect the first time. Watching their installation videos made it a breeze to install. I've had it for about a month now and I have no complaints at all. It kicks on as soon as I place my jeep in reverse, and off when I put it in drive. I love it so much that I'm about to order a second one to place in from of my jeep for off road trail use.

It is a lot of work and cost for what you get.

The camera is relative east to install but does require tools and some skill. The camera works. It’s slow to come up when you put your car in reverse. The picture is OK day and night until the car starts moving. Once moving, pixelation is at an unexceptionable level. In my opinion it isn’t worth the high cost. On the other hand, it will assist in parking. I haven’t talked with the correct person at Garmin to see if the pixelation can be reduced.

This camera is great. I have it mounted on the front of my FJ and it provides a crystal clear view of what is in front of me (it's tough seeing over an FJ hood). It's been through a ton of car washes with no problems. But with confidence.

The wireless works well but the camera is way to fish eyed. Things 10 feet away look like they are 50 feet away.

This is the way to avoid the expensive dealer installed Nav and back up camera systems. Sure they will gladly install an aftermarket or dealer system for a few thousand dollars, but I now have a Garmin Nav with Lifetime weather, traffic and maps and the back up camera for about $250. I bought the Garmin navigation system separately and then bought this back up WIRELESS camera and receiver. The receiver part only took changing the charging cord to the Nav unit. The camera took about 45 minutes to install. This camera works well at night as well as in the daytime and you can adjust the width and depth and aim of the camera from the Garmin unit. Really pleased with this system!

I was a little hesitant to purchase due to interference concerns. Installed it and no issues at all, Nice clear picture as good as any hard wired unit I have seen. The only trick is installing it cleanly and accessing power, but that has nothing to do with the unit. It also came with enough accessories to fit most installations. It transmits a clean, clear picture. It takes about 2 seconds to get the display on the GPS after putting truck in reverse. I'm liking it.

I ha a car with rearview camera and recently changed to a car without one. I bought this camera in combination with a gps screen from Garmin. They both are a great asset in my car. I didn't have to deal with any wiring from the back of my car all the way to connect to the gps.it was a very easy to install and connect wirelessly to the gps. The image is clear and sharp. Best camera ever.

I am very impressed with the operation of this camera. It is paired with a Nuvi 2689 that I was already using. I had noticed that the Nuvi has an app for a back-up camera so I knew it was compatible. We have another vehicle with a factory back-up camera and it has become a necessary safety feature that I believe should be on all vehicles. The cost of the BC30 camera, including Best Buy installation, isn't that high compared to its convenience and the cost of a mishap it might prevent. The camera is powered with the backup lights so it automatically activates in reverse gear. The update takes about a second, and interrupts the Nuvi even when it is looking for satellites immediately after power-up, so there is no further delay. The camera image is very clear and the colored lines (green, yellow, red) provide a distance estimate.to obstacles as you move in reverse. There is no sound as this does not include back-up assist. Also, all back-up cameras get dirty, especially in winter, and that makes the image appear very grainy and foggy. A simple wipe of the lens with your thumb restores the crisp image. I learned this lesson on our factory back-up camera so I have no doubt that such dirt is the cause of most complaints of poor image quality from this and other back-up cameras. Like other such cameras, this one uses a wide angle lens that will "see" approaching pedestrians and other vehicles that are outside of your vision through the car windows from the drivers seat, such as when your rear bumper moves beyond a high vehicle like a truck or SUV parked next to you as you back into a street. This is a good, reliable product, and is also indispensable any time you have children potentially in the vicinity of your vehicle.

Easy to install and works great with the Garmin GPS. Could be better if I was able to find a 12V power source for the GPS that shuts off with the vehicle key and could hide the wire. This would look better and not having to shut the GPS off and on all the time would be a great benefit for the back up camera.

After reading some of the reviews I was not sure about trying this back up camera, but the camera has worked out great. The install was easy and the camera picture is great. I'm glad I got this unit as it works with my GPS so I don't need to put another screen on my windshield.

If you have Garmin Nuvi, this is a great accessory for older cars without backup cameras. It is almost, not quite, as good as the built in in my newer car.

I added this backup camera to a Garmin nuviCam and it provides a very good backup image. Installation is never easy when you have to figure out how to take off a brake light assembly and splice into the wire harness. Placing the transmitter in the trunk did not work at first because the safe place had too much metal between it and the GPS. once calibrated it projects lines where the sides of the car will pass as you back up. Note that it does not curve them when you turn the wheel because it is not connected to your steering like a built-in system.

This Garmin Back up camera was a replacement for a cheap backup camera system that I purchased on Amazon that would not work when the temp dropped below 50 degrees. Now the good points: 1) Installation of the Garmin was really easy because I used the same connections from the last set up. 2) Transmitter was mounted in the bed of my truck and transmits a flawless signal from about 13 feet away. 3) The picture comes on the GPS screen automatically when in reverse and switches back to GPS when taken out of reverse. Not sure if this will be affected by the cold like the last system that I was using as we are in the middle of summer right now. The bad points: 1) keep in mind is that there is about a one second delay from real time to the picture being displayed on the screen so you will feel your vehicle strike something one second before you will actually see it on the screen. 2) Another thing that takes a little getting used to is the fact that the camera lens is more of a wide angle (fish eye) lens than the last set up so things look much smaller and further away than they actually are. You still need to back up with caution. 3) Water drops on the lens from rain or road spray distorts the picture.

The camera provides a good picture, with some grain. It helps me with hooking up my trailer without assistance. The installation process was straight forward but does require some mechanical know-how.

I got this for my Prius which has a back window that is hard to see out of. I had Best Buy install because I couldn't figure out how to run the wire through the hatchback. A car with a trunk would be much easier. It works fine coming on when I put the car in reverse. There may be a little trouble using it at night. Haven't been out enough at night to be sure.

It did not take long to run the wires, but I took it to the experts to wire it in to the reverse lights. Objects are closer than they look but you get used to it. Never have had a problem with it comes on all the time.
