The cable is aprox. 4 feet long. On my pickup, I had enough cable to mount the camera in the center of my license place and run the cable behind the bumper to the corner of the tailgate where I brought the wire under the gate and up the inside of the bed just behind the tail lights. Transmitter is mounted on the side of the bed just below the top side rail of the bed. Hope this helps.

I don't know how this could/should be mounted on a pick up truck since the transmitter has a fairly short wire to the camera and (I think) would be exposed to the elements. If you have hidden storage under the truck bed the transmitter could possibly go in there. I'd show your truck to the car installation folks at Best Buy and ask them before you consider buying the BC 30. I have a sedan so the transmitter goes inside the trunk lid opposite the license plate and the camera is mounted just above my license plate. Good luck.
