• i believe it should work fine in an RV. Garmin sells an extension cable to move the sending antenna closer to the Drive Smart unit if a weak signal is an issue.

• As long as your gps says it will link to it on Garmin's website it will work for approx 60 feet or less from the camera to the gps unit. I have read that some were using it on their 5th wheel campers.
