open box just means, purchased previously and returned. The box was opened. I have purchased open boxed items before and never had a problem. They are not damaged in any way.

They do get inspected for all parts, etc. and if anything is missing it is usually in the description. Most of the time the item goes home and right back, but it was opened so they have to mark it as such.
