The new Beats Solo 3 has the new Apple chip. Gives it 40 hours of battery life where the 2 were like 10-15ish I remember correctly. Also the range that you get on Bluetooth are almost triple over any others. Sound is amazing as well.

If you're an Iphone user you will definitely want the solo 3 as they were designed to tailor the iphone for a few extra features. If you're an android user like me you can still use them like any other headphone. The solo 2 was also created before apple bought the beats brand. Don't know if the sound tech has changed much, but the other things have.
