I found that when you first turn them on, you will see the lights displayed based on the current charge. So, when you turn them on and you see all 5 lights, that means they are fully charged and the fewer lights, the less of a charge. When you turn the headphones on, the charge lights will be lit for about 2 seconds and then shut off. To see the current charge after the lights go out, just push the button once and the lights come back on. At first I was thinking it sucked that they do not stay lit but then changed my mind because that means the charge will last longer. Event those little lights will use battery.
