Not necessarily... Bluetooth seamlessly transitions from listening to music over to answering a phone call and then back to music again once the call has ended. The cable which comes included can/does plug directly into the headphones and your audio device. Some devices don't have bluetooth capability, thus requiring the headphones to be plugged in.
