• I'm gonna say yes. Your MacBook Pro has a Thunderbolt port which essentially is the same as MiniDisplay. You can use MiniDisplay cables with Thunderbolt because they are backwards compatible, however you can't use Thunderbolt cables with MiniDisplay. Gotta love Apple complicating a cup of water.
